Of the four field positions, I think size is of least importance in the goal. And you can be a successful goalie at 5'2". You may get manhandled or have to be exceptionally quick to dominate at a/m/d at that height. I've coaches in the past, and on our JV team I converted two shorter middies into goalies, and one of them is now the varsity starter. He's 5'4", a senior, and tearing it up. So if you're short and wanna be a star, goalie is the perfect position.

ur tiny PinnacleGoalie, but id say 5'8 6'1 150 190 would be the goalie size. Ive had to huge (fat) goalies and they are terrible because they can barely move. The only good fat goalie ive seen is that one from Cortland State

I say barely because if you're 5'2" you Nike Air Vapormax R

I have had goalies come in all shapes and sizes, and by far the best goalie I have had the pleasure to coach was this one boy who everyone thought wouldn't make it through try outs.

Goalies can be any size really. You dont want to be too large. Especially in box because all your bulk is at the top. If you're too tall then Nike Vapormax Air Max Plus you're all legs and thats where you wanna shoot anyways. Its better to be wide. If you look at some of the best pro goalies they aren't overly large. Once you get to the point where everyone can thread the needle sheer size doesnt get you anywhere, you need some speed and agility.

long as you can perform. It's not like say football where a coach probably won't even look at a lineman recruit if he's not over 200 pounds.

What about Alex Cade from San Fran, hes 5' 8" and 165 lbs. He starts in front of Aaron Fenton and is AMAZING.

I myself am 6 and played at 195 in college (weigh 185 now; don't wok out like I used to) but I think when it comes to goalies size is barely relevant.

It really won't be your size as much as your skill that will define you as a goalie. As long as you work on fundamentals, stay focused, have good reflexes that you do your best to hone, and most important, do not put yourself down. Stay positive.

He is roughly 5'2" 140lbs, basically a little mole man. To everyone's surprise, he went from knowing nothing about lacrosse to being starting goalie in roughly a month of practice and then started and played almost every game we had.

Don't forget Chris Sanderson. Goalie seems to be one of those positions that your body type doesn't really matter as Nike Air Vapormax Flyknit Anthracite/Rush Orange Men's Shoe

will have an advantage on getting down on low shots and have a harder time on high shots (I've coached kids this height). The opposite is true for a goalie who is 6'2". He has an advantage high and a harder time getting low (I've coacxhed kids this height up to 6'6"). Here is the main point, though. That advantage can be minimized to nothing if you put the work in. Brian Carcaterra springs to mind he was short but practiced a ton and his height was a non issue. He was also a stellar athlete out of the cage; he used it to his advantage.
